A Journey of Expertise and Passion
In 2004, Lachlan (Locky) embarked on an air conditioning and refrigeration apprenticeship with a reputable medium-sized company. This foundational experience laid the groundwork for a vast career trajectory in the electrical industry.
After completing his air conditioning and refrigeration apprenticeship, Locky transitioned into an electrical apprenticeship, a pivotal move that opened doors to new opportunities. Under the mentorship of Chris - Chris Electrical, they delved into the intricate world of electrical systems. Chris’s guidance exposed Locky to a vast array of scenarios, from routine troubleshooting to complex installations.
Over the years, Locky’s journey took him across New South Wales (NSW), where he worked with multiple companies. His adaptability and need for knowledge allowed him to gain expertise not only in residential settings but also in industrial environments. He became well-versed in the unique demands of factories, warehouses, and production facilities.
In 2010, fate intervened once again. Our Locky received an exciting proposition: joining a contracting team based in Mudgee, NSW, tasked with constructing a coal handling preparation plant in the Ulan coal fields. This marked a turning point—a chance to contribute to a significant project that would shape his career.
For the next 12 years, Locky immersed himself in the world of surface and underground coal mining. From routine maintenance and repairs to ambitious upgrades, he honed his skills. His journey included stints as a diligent site supervisor, an adept operations manager, and ultimately, the esteemed position of general manager.
Yet, amidst the professional growth, Locky’s heart remained tethered to the Coast. Regular visits and holidays with a close friend in Wamban left an indelible mark. The allure of the South Coast’s beauty and warm hospitality grew stronger with each departure back to Mudgee.
In 2022, alongside his wife and two young boys, Locky made a life-altering decision: to relocate to Moruya. Here, he founded LKR and Co Electrical, driven by a passion and a commitment to excellence. Through family connections and word of mouth, LKR and Co Electrical has completed a diverse range of projects, including collaboration with a Canberra-based company on the construction of the St. Peter’s Catholic School’s new science, art, and hospitality classrooms.
Locky’s journey is a testament to resilience, expertise, and the pursuit of excellence.
